Noble M600 Is Finally Production-Ready

Full-production M600 looks great in grey (we think)

These are the first official pictures of the first full-production version of the carbon-bodied Noble M600.

"This is a major step forward from our previous baby blue prototype," says Noble boss Peter Boutwood. "It features a full carbon body, better fit and finish and an improved interior."

We can't pass judgement on the fit and finish of the car from the pictures, so we'll take Peter's word for that, but the M600 certainly looks meaner in dark grey with red accents than in the blue hue of the prototype car.

To help emphasise the car's hand-built-in-Blighty credentials, the new car also displays the names of everybody associated with the build on the sill kick plates. This includes the receptionists, secretaries and even tea boys and girls; basically every single person involved with the Leicestershire company.

The full production model has also shed a fair bit of weight; the whole lot now weighs less than 1200kg. With 650bhp on tap from the twin-turbo Volvo V8, that gives a power-to-weight ratio of some 542bhp per tonne. Which is quite a lot.

Noble says it has a 'healthy' order list for around 50 cars - considering that it takes around a month to build each one and that no official prices have yet been set, that's quite a waiting list.

Nice to see the departure of the Focus steering wheel. Looks good, great colour, alot better than the toilet blue they were touting before.

I personally find it easier to flick to the news section for the latest news rather than always trawling through the forum.

My point was the forum has got proper pictures in it, so you can see fit and finish etc, especialy as the article says you cant from the pr stuff!

In keeping with previous Nobles it still looks awful! (IMO)

Sorry but it's not pretty.

Every news item somebody has a pop at it being 'old news' or 'slow news day' with the appropriate link to the forums... Myself, I never venture into the forums (I am sure there's many more like me) and enjoy PH for it's daily news feed, so it's not repetative or old; unlike the post that point it out every single time!

Re the car, not quite sure about the red mesh in the photos, but it looks fantastic otherwise.

I (mostly) agree but good luck to them. Great to see individual and hand built sportscars. Perhaps for future supercars spend some of the development money on a good stylist - whoever did the Paganini Huayra is worth paying.

Hardly PR stuff! Admittedly plenty of our pieces do start off with general press releases (we're not alone in that), but this particular one was from an e-mail direct from Peter Boutwood - no PR agency involved.

Plus, I would argue that you can't see fit and finish from any photo, even your (admittedly more hi-res) ones - it's the sort of thing you need to touch or see in reality, not via pixel...

He should have been paid a bit more to finish off the front though!

TVR's always looked like tomorrows car, Nobles always look like yesterdays car, and this is the same again. at the kind of price levels we are talking i don't think having to excuse it will cut it no matter how it goes. It needs both.

I cant see this selling in big numbers given its competing against the 458 Italia and new McLaren.

I dont think the performance increase will be a deciding factor for most people given the figures for the Ferrari and McLaren.

Good its on the market though

Have to agree with you. Don't like the looks myself.

The 50 customer's must have the patients of a saint. How long has it taken to get to production status?

I also agree. It's a dull generic shape which can of course appeal to more people but with such a small production, you have to wonder why. Then again, Noble have never been that good on styling and it's probably not what they're about. Doubtless safety regs have done their share too.

Looks a bit slab sided and heavy... I'm sure the performance will be incredible though!
