Question re tyres vx220
Discussion
Well i dont actually need to replace my tyres anytime soon so this is a bit of a hypothetical question.
The tyre size on my 2.2 n/a vx220 fronts is 175 55 r17 however the only company that makes them are bridgestone and they are bloody pricey.
Would it be possible and SAFE to fit a slightly different size tyre to the same rim so that i could achieve more choice/better price?

Normally it's not a big deal to mess around with it a little (provided you're not doing something stupid like trying to get a 335 tyres on a 6.5 inch wheel ) , going from 195 to a 205 etc, or a 55 to a 45. It might change the rolling radius of the tyre slightly which will obviously have an effect on the speedo reading, but there's a few tyre size calculators just a google away which will make deciding easier. I'd guess there's also no shortage of advice from the VX boys about it?
