Hey guys, im on the market for a new hoon/weekend car. can spend up to 5/6k. Im quite picky but have simple requirements, needs to be good on b roads in the country it also needs to be a fun car, that sounds nice. Insurance has been strange, id love a v8 but the only thing i can get insured is an rv8 and thats a bit out of my price range.

Getting in early with a predictable answer, what about an MX-5? Easily available for silly prices, cheap and painless to run and as much as fun as you can get to a pound! Whats more, they're good daily drivers too if you ever decide to take your toy to work.

Loving the kit car idea. Going to have to go against the mx5, im going to catch a lot of flame for this, but, i never found the interior comfy as such my legs were pined against the steering wheel. The mx5 as well dont get me wrong fun little car, but after owning a classic roadster doesnt really have that, well, soul. Great handling car with a nice little sound to it and decent turn of speed but its not got that certain something.
