Reading some of the topics I notice that there are a number of very helpful people out there so I am wondering if there is anyone to help me.
I would like to know how to go about searching for a case brought against a council in 2010. I only know the borough's name not who brought the case against them. It was to do with a lady (not me) who brought a case against the council for taking her to court for non-payment of council tax during the financial year. Grapevine has told me that she WON her case against this council and now I want to see the details.
Baillii was mentioned in another blog where you can find case details but I have been unable to find it.

I would say send the council a freedom of information act request. From experience some councils are quite good at giving you the answer they want to give you and not actually answer the question you asked. I don't know who grapevine are/is but if they can prove it I would say they need to come up with some more info rather than the urban myth this sounds like. I am sure the person in question will be paying the tax in one way or another.

LexisNexis/Butterworths is what most legal students use but not sure if you have to pay to get access. "Westlaw" is another resource
