I have noticed that people tend to be very negative towards people who modify their cars in ways that other people dont like, people seem to assume the drivers of ceartain modified cars are retarded and they appear to get angry and frustrated when talking about such cars, what happend to each to their own?

I also notice simular things in all the fog light threads etc or people with poor spelling it seems to reallt bother them, i mean its just not a big deal at all i dont understand why people are so miserble.

Ok, well you've mastered the poor spelling. Do you have a horribly modified car and you often use your fog lights?

The PH majority appear to want everyone to conform to driving silver/grey cars that don't stand out or stand to be ridiculed..

+1 Some of you guys need to RELAX.

(i) It must be great if all you have to bother you is that someone's taste in cars is different to your own.

The person who bought / modified the car must be happy with it. If the car brings them joy, that is a good thing. Far be it from me to piss on their happiness with my supposedly superior taste.

Just because you own a certain car doesn't give you a right to pass judgment on others. Who knows, maybe lots of people think you have a crap car smile

(ii) The fetish some PH members have about criticising and correcting any spelling, grammar or punctuation mistake really grates with me.

It is boring and reminds me of school and work.

So what if someone makes a minor mistake, if they can be understood - fine.

(iii) Front foglights don't particularly annoy me either. They used to, but then I thought about it. They aren't particularly bright or distracting so what is the big deal?

To my understanding, PH started as a TVR forum... nothing is more in your face and outrageous than a TVR!

I don’t totally understand all the negativity but I’ve got to say I really don’t have any time for tastelessly modified corsas/golfs and similar. I think even most “young-uns” sham these abominations now, hence the lack of them on the roads now. boxedin

It's a discussion forum, so people use it to discuss things...principally cars.
As with everything in life, that means both positive and negative.

The demographic of PH is what it is. If I were to stroll onto a modding site and start banging on about the lines of a DS I'd be ridiculed.
