Maybe not many others on here really care about this as it only affects us Lincolnshire people. However, one comment in the article baffles me:

“Every aspect of it is important but hopefully the lower speed limits will discourage lorry drivers from coming through the village and maybe they will use the A16 and A17 instead.”

Seems like the new scheme is based around speed limit reduction, with other bits tagged on.

What will happen if the accidents continue, even with the speed limits being lower?

There was an accident on this road last night. However, it is a twisty road with lots of junctions. I think you will never be able to compensate for people who aren't really concentrating enough on what they are doing behind the wheel.

The speed limits will get reduced further.

The beatings will continue until morale improves.

I drive that bit of road on the way to see a client in Long Sutton.

The current speed limits are set correctly IMO. Getting lorries to go the slightly longer way around would be an easy improvement - is it possible to have 7.5T weight limits whilst still allowing the farm traffic to move freely?
