That's how I found the original applications for replacement parts I needed for my kit car - many parts (esp. generic Lucas items) have part numbers stamped on them so it was easy to find applications listed by current suppliers.If the parts are for Minis then Google would have directed you to the website of Somerford Minis who have the original BMC parts manual scanned in to their site , likewise had they been MG parts you would have been directed to one of the many MG specialists . I have been dealing in New Old Stock parts for old British cars for 15 years so I am not bad at identifying stuff. I also have a quantity of old Quinton Hazell parts catalogues that have a cross reference section which gives original manufacturers part numbers , so I may be able to help .
