the interesting part of that video was where he said that for £70 (ish) he could run an electri car for 6000 miles.
better buy one now then, whilst the government are giving you £5000 towards it. Once they become popular, I cna forsee a massive whacking great tax on car purchase prices to offset the lost revenue from the tax on fuel and the tax on the tax on fuel.

Interesting clip that, but as always with the "spin" of the reviewer:
Ultimate greenness: I think most of the studies done "cradle to grave" actual rate the landrover defender as one of the greenest cars wrt CO2 over their life (last for ever, very few plastics, very recyclable, and they don't get driven for lots of miles (mainly becuase you go deaf if you try lol)
Costs: Land Rover defenders simply don't seem to depreciate! (i was astonished when i looked at the costs of 90's last year!) In the UK, depreciation is still the single biggest cost of new car ownership, and because electric cars have only just come out, you can't not have a new one!
He also seemed to think that all the moving parts in the landrovers transission was a issue?? well, tbh, the electric car will have most of those parts too, it still needs wheel bearing, halfshaftsm gears, bearing etc etc etc. And in case you haven't noticed, even though the average IC engine has reciprocating parts that fly backwards and forwards at 20m/s we have got pretty dam good at getting them to be reliable (Most modern cars now breakdown due to er, electrical faults............. lol)
Also the Costs of fuels arguments was skewed by the current situation of taxation (which we KNOW is going to change once it reaches the mass adoption tipping point) (i.e. he put in £68 of diesel, but actually only 25% or so was the "real" fuel cost!
