This the norm? I have a crack which is getting bigger by the day!

What car? On a mainstream vehicle that sounds like a long time on something a little different that could be how long a windscreen takes to ship, chain windscreen places can't have every screen in stock. Also make sure your screen is similar, I had my screen replaced a few years back and the dotted sun shade bit behind the mirror isn't present on the replacement screen which is a PITA in bright sunshine.

But what if you hit a bump or run over a small child that crack could cost you £70 on your windscreen excess because you didn't get it replaced by Autoglass instantly.

Just an MX5, they reckon they are very busy (Auto WIndscreens). This is at my home address - if I wanted it done at work (Slough) I'd be waiting until the 27th (week Thursday!), which is ludicrous.

It's inconvenient and I'm not sure where you stand if you get pulled (probably not supposed to drive it) but even with a large crack, it won't break.

Two options, one put the booking details for the windscreen replacement in your car and be honest or two claim it just happened.

I've driven for over a month with a busted screen, laminated screens tend to hold together quite well.

Mine was the same. Two weeks ago, stone hit and instantly cracked, autowindscreens booked me in for the following Tuesday. The crack was almost the entire height of the windscreen by the timeit was replaced! My commute is only a couple of miles, but the speed bumps made it worse I reckon (and I crawl over them).

Can't fault the friendly chap that did the work.

I've been waiting since early Dec for my windscreen to be replaced. With some luck it will be done on Monday but since they failed to show twice already I'm not holding my breath.

I expect I can't say which auto windscreen supplier I'm dealing with but their customer service is woeful, definitely never again! frown
