5 minutes ago, still breathing heavy!

I came out of the little local shop down the road from me, driving back, there's a little mini roundabout then straight down to my house. As I'm coming up to the roundabout a fiesta or something similar comes the other way with a 20ish year old chav and his girlfriend. As we pass he leans forward and gives me the finger right up against his windscreen, no other cars on the road, no reason at all to do it, never seen him in my life before.
Now because of my car I get a bit of this but today I'm just not in the mood. I go around the mini roundabout and track back, he is parked outside the shop I just left. I pull up behind him just he's getting out, I call him and he walks back towards me. He's about 20, I'm 46 but frankly I'm ready for the little .
We meet right next to his passenger window where his girlfriend is sitting and he says "WHAT!"
I get right in his face and say "WHAT'S THE FINGER FOR MATE!!".
He goes "oh, it wasn't to you".
"SO, NO OTHER CAR FOR MILES BUT IT WASN'T FOR ME!"
"no".

I call him a prick and walk away, he's made a total dick of himself in front of his girlfriend, that's good enough.

Idiot.

What possesses people? Did he think I wouldn't be able to catch him?
Or probably just thought "Stupid old "

Now I need a beer.

Why did it bother you? I'd have just ignored it.

TBH I normally do, but just the sheer viciousness of it annoyed me, he pulled the screw face and waggled the finger right at me.

Calming down now, probably should have just laughed it off.

EFA wink Best to just ignore. You are driving what he would like to drive but probably never will.

Ahh, sorry about that. I was waving to my dog walking friend on the other side of the road to let him know I was going to pick him up at one o'clock tomorrow. Oh and ever heard of Polo Mints?

'Get out of car moments' - rare but normally rewarding.

Isn't it supposed to be healthy to 'let off steam' every now and then?

There are jealous idiots everywhere, so in the future you have two options, learn to deal with it, or let them get to you and a: beat the tar out of them or b: get a different car . . . when this sort of thing happens to me, I simply blow them a kiss or wave back at them.

Sorry, but I think it's you that have made a bit of a dick of themselves. One - for actually being that worried what someone else thinks of you or your car and secondly, for going back after him rolleyes

Yep, good advice. I've had lots of this before with this car and others and I'm normally unruffled but this little scrote just pushed the right button.
We're allowed to answer back sometimes aren't we?

What perplexes me about this whole thing is why anyone would do that.

Do they drive past expensive houses and give them the old Gareth Hunt?

Do they see someone with a better looking other half than theirs and give a two fingered salute?

I really am at a loss to understand this- can't ever remember it happening to me in the 911 (possibly too common to register with them) when I lived in the UK and it certainly wouldn't happen in any of the other countries I've lived in. When people see a nice car here in the US they either admire or ignore it. Have thing become that bad in the UK these days?

+1

Although personally, I would have ignored it and most certainly would not have confronted the bloke.

You never know what the kids today are carrying (knives etc).

I don't blame you mate, he was clearly just playing the big man in front of the missus. The fact that you taught him a lesson and made him look small might make him think twice about it next time.

Interesting. So who exactly did I make a dick of myself in front of?
Do you think the scrote is going "Oh wow, I totally abused that bloke for no reason and he actually wanted to have a say back! What a !!"

Sorry pincher but you haven't got a clue, roll your eyes up your fking arse idiot.

Another beer!!!

Jesus, the big balls are out today eh? Why bother following someone for that? You'll do it to the wrong bloke one day and get a kicking or worse for your trouble.

Another jealous tt, just ignore him, you'd get a thumbs up from me for that car! I'm sure a lot of people would give you the thumbs up or a nice wave.

Same thing happened to me when I was with my g/f in a 911 targa - just figured the little tt had a miserable life and left it at that.
Quite pleased you followed yours and got in his face a little bit. It's a shame you couldn't give him a little punch, I'm sure it would have been just a touch of the tough love he desperately needs....
But I guess the law would have banged you up for 25 years if you gave him that kind of helpful social councelling.
46 is about the right age for a Ferrari IMO....

Absolutely twisty, in future me, and everybody else, should take any completely pointless st from anybody all the time just in case they might hurt us. That'll sort out societies problems.

Just sometimes it's nice to hold people to account for their fking actions.

I knew I shouldn't have posted this. I'm the fking bad man here already.

Run and fking hide.
