Hi all,

Having startered the winter activities on the 348 I noticed yesterday that one of the hoses is cracked and rather tired looking and in need of replacement. I'd like to replace it with an aftermarket hose as I'm not convinced the Ferrari item is constructed in the best way. The part is shown with a red arrow pointed to it and as you can see it is an unusual shape which obviously put stress on the bends of the pipe as it isn't supported.

I'm thinking that it can be made up with a good quality oil hose, a T piece and some external sprung bends from Goodyear as shown below.

Can anyone recommended a supplier that will have what I need?

Thanks

Thats not an oil hose.

Its a vent hose

I think Samco can make up custom hoses

I assume the hose highlighted goes to the other head.

Could you not get a T piece to replace item 5 therefore removing the need of a T hose?

Yes it is a vent hose...but it carries oil/vapour so I believe it needs to be oil grade...especially because when venting it is at its highest temperature???

That is a step down connector reducing the pipe from 19mm to 16mm. I will replace both those sections of hose as it is always useful to keep the offcuts as spare.

Speak to Calum at Universal Automotive (Dayco timing belts UK distributor) as they were building up the paterns for a series of Ferrari hoses and were looking for examples to copy. If they dont have one on the shelf, they may be able to make one to your spec smile

If i'm reading that right it goes from the tank to the engine so won't be that hot.

My caterham runs with crankcase with a slight vacuum so i guess your car does also

After much searching today I believe I have sourced a reinforced anti kink hose suitable for oil applications. I do however still need to locate a 19mm (3/4") T or Y branch; preferably in stainless steel. Any ideas?

The dairy and food industry uses lots of stainless steel.
