Is my battery going to die?

I have noticed in the last week when driving my lights seem to go dull when i slow to a stop.

The instrument lights do it as well at the same time.

When i pull away again they slowly go back to normal.

The alternator is putting charge to the battery so it is not that.

I cant think of any other reason for the light to dip like this.

Any ideas?

It sounds as if the voltage regulator is on it's way out. If the battery turns over the car quickly enough when starting then it'll be ok

What car is it, I thought voltage would be ecu controlled on any modern cars?
