I have recently noticed a small puddle of clear water forming under my car (mx5) whilst in the garage. Originally I had suspected a fluid leak but have now ruled that out due to clarity of fluid on the floor and levels not going down.

I have just been in to the car after not using it for a week and there are multiple puddles spread across the floor underneath the width of the car, the chassis rails are damp and the wishbones, brake hoses, engine sump and lower wings are all wet. I've had the car in the garage since June and this has only just started to happen in the last couple of weeks. I only use the car in the dry so this is something occurring after parking the car up. The garage is well vented so air circulates well.

Any thoughts?

Will looks into that, would that explain wetness on the lower bodywork?

Warm moist air getting into contact with cold metal will always form condensation. It's that time of year. You have a number of choices.

Either:
Heat the garage.
Stop the outside air from getting in.
Improve airflow.
Use the car.
Move to a warm dry climate.

ok thanks, improving airflow would be allowing air in and out?

My garage has been the same - stuff inside it is cold and as the temp increases it takes a couple of days to 'adjust'.

Yesterday I gave the garage a good old clean out and washed/mopped the (painted) floor. I left the side door open for a couple of hours and it's bone dry now.

I have the same in my unheated and none dehumidified garage. However in my other garage with a dehumidifier and a greenhouse tube heater placed under my car there is no damp or condensation. The greenhouse heater is a 70mm dia tube about a meter long sits on the floor and is rated about 80 watts. De humidifier is up to you re size and power consumption.

De Humidifier running 24/7 seems excessive. I suppose you could put it on an elctronic timer of sorts.

Buy a couple buckets of Cat litter instead. wink
