I'm not actually considering this......okay maybe I'm a little tempted, but other than the obvious bad colour choice surely there has to be something wrong with this?

"Clutch will need replacing". That would add a few hundred wouldn't it?

its a cheap car, but just a trade car/trade price so when you've done the clutch and see what else it might need its not that cheap but then again you could just use as is for a while I've used cars with slipping clutches before you just drive accordingly it might be fine for ages.

How much does a clutch cost on a 75 V6?

I hadn't actually seen the clutch issue, was blinded by the price lol

Can you still get parts for Rovers anymore? Obviously not genuine, but will there be a situation where even pattern parts dry up?

If I owned that car I'd want to spend as much time as possible driving it..

..at least that way I wouldnt have to look at the vomit inducing green paint!! - What colour is that exactly? Baby st green? Lethargic leek soup green?

They are calling it Metallic Sage, now I'm sorry but I've never seen Sage that colour.

I've read somewhere else on here (can't remember which thread) that parts are still very plentiful and will be for some time.

My thought exactly I mean they are still making the 75 but now it's badged a Roewe and sold for the China market so the parts have still got to be out there

Correct me if I'm wrong... But I thought that the V6 Rovers were 2.5l?

Parts are plentiful and not too expensive (obviously a tad more than your usual french boxes) but altogether not too bad.

Both 2.0 and 2.5 V6 units were offered (although the 2002 1.8 turbo offers the same performance as the 2.0 V6 but with better economy)

Some were 2.0l with around 150hp. While the parts are cheap, there isn't much space in the 75's engine bay so it will quite an expensive job unless you can do it yourself (they aren't complicated, just awkward).

Ah, thank you both for clearing it up a bit for me. I've got myself a nice mechanic, so labour isnt usually something I worry about. lucky for me! biggrin

I never understood why they didnt offer the 1.8T in the ZS, would make a nice change from the V6 on the economy level! biggrin

Quite a few hundred I would think.

That would be quite a nice car if the clutch is the only thing wrong with it.

I'd phone them up mention the clutch offer them £500 & see what they say. It's not worth anything if they can't sell it.

+1. I wouldn't give a penny more than £500.
