McLaren v 458 in the flesh

At a most enjoyable day at the Autosport show yesterday I was able to see for the first time the new McLaren and 458 in close proximity in real life.
Before the show I was firmly in the McLaren camp. Now, I think my quids would go on the Ferrari.
I'm judging by static look of course, dynamics are for another day.
I'm afraid the McLaren seemed quite ordinary in many ways. Ordinary in that is didn't seem to stand out from the many low wide super duper machines you can see at the show.
The 458 though seemed so much swoopier and modern. Drop dead gorgeous in fact.
It's a ridiculous thing of course to suggest that you would have one over the other as they are both simply stunning. It was just the difference between perception and reality.
CAVEAT: The McLaren was on the display stand and, as such, was on an elevated plinth so one's view was a little skewed. That may make everything I have said above prove to be complete rubbish!
