Evening All,

We had very heavy rain fall this afternoon and when I got back, I thought I'd stick the cabrio in the garage.

I then had a brain wave !..........dry the car with the microfibre as the grit/dirty would get caught in the microfibre and not scratch the car....then put the car in the garage.....

.....How wrong I was. I have a 2ft scratch on a dark metallic car and I feel sick...!

I can just about feel it with my nail and it looks really awful.

Sorry to hear that, but what the hell made you think drying a dirty car was going to result in anything other than swirls and light scratches at best!?

If T-cut wont cut it, then I guess its 'live with it' or ask someone to try and machine polish it out.

Rude, pointless comment. Don't ever ask for any sympathy on here for anything.

OP, I know what you feel like, the first time I parked my car in London on a street overnight it got keyed. Only about a foot long but I still own the car 8 years later and every time I drive the car and see the scratch (just behind driver's door) it makes me feel bad.
Respray and rebuild at some point!!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but... if it catches your finger nail, no amount of polishing will get rid of it frown

I've not used the T-Cut one but I've used others which are quite good. Has it gone through the clear coat or top coat? Can you see any primer at all? If so I think you are screwed.

T-cut is non-diminishing, so it'll leave fine scratches that will need polishing with a finishing polish, if you want a decent shine to it. If your not that bothered then it'll probably help hide the scratch a bit by rounding the edges off, there's much better polishes available though.
