car insurance - postcodes and what can be done
Discussion
GF just been quoted a £200 hike on insurance because of having moved to a slightly diff postcode. Aside from moving again, can anything be done whatsoever? I think I know the answer but as I am not an insurance expert I thought I would throw it out there. Maybe someone knows a good company to try or something? thanks

Put it in a garage, fit a better alarm?Obviously more cars stolen in the new area, which is comforting to know!

Only the usual and thats shop around, although other things worth checking is that she hasn't overestimated how many miles she'll be doing in a year, also trying alternative job title. Changing my partners job title from Call Centre Operative to Healthcare advisor (which is what he does in said call centre resulted in a £80 saving for his premium)ok we don't live together
she doesn't have a garage but has a driveway but it gets shared with her housemates, so her car isn't always parked on it, so the correct location to say is street in that case I would say. Alarm would prob cost more than £200. She is a teacher so not much you can do with that job title!

Messing with your occupation (but being honest ) is a good move, as others have said; easier (and cheaper and less hassle) than moving. So is shopping around.
