While idly browsing through the classifieds on a Friday afternoon, trying to find something interesting to scratch my latest convertible itch (as you do), I came across this!

My question is, why on gods earth would someone do this to an innocent M3?

Wheels are crap
Colour is crap
lambo doors are so tacky lambo has stopped doing them
EVERYTHING is wrong! Waste of an M3 (unless hes lying )
Strange that the alloys are 'optional' as is a hard top for it.....
Still, theres a Greek business boy whos seen that and creamed himself.
Cos its well sikk and i just rit off my 318 compact so need daddy to buy me a noo wun innit.

I'm going to go against the grain here. That yellow isn't my favourite colour & personally I don't like the Lambo doors thing, but.......
If one enjoyed exhibiting their car at shows, it is pretty much perfect. The doors also open normally, so you don't have to look like a bell when you're driving round day to day. A re-spray in black or even white could be done for not a lot of money & it would look extremely good.
If those doors are made well, the manufacturing effort gone into them to get them open evenly in either Lambo or normal mode & retain the shut lines would be pretty impressive.
In summary, of that ilk of modifying, this is one of the best & most tasteful I have seen

Also, I'm confused, how do the doors open, are they lambo doors or normal doors, they open differently in different pictures!
it's my understanding that to open this type of 'lambo door' you open them as normal to about 1 third open as in picture 6, THEN they swing up. It's NOT a smooth scissor motion because the shape of the car won't allow it. So when they say "door can open normally if you want" what they mean is it'll open a third of the way and you have to squeeze out.there's numerous around me (slough) with it, the best is a civic coupe, looks a complete mess and the guy looks a dick. Thing is, his modifying bretheren love it

An 8 year old Lambo doored M3 wouldn't really be used as a show car at many shows except Max Power, a scene which thankfully died off about 10 years ago (unfortunately now replaced by the fashion of chavving up Bentleys etc).
I have seen a few examples of Lambo doors in my day and without fail they have all been crap. Ill fitting and uneven length\heights etc to a man.
I know Bill Gates is now into giving money to charities and helping worthy causes. If I was in his shoes, I would make it my mission to buy up every single monstrosity of this type and crush them for scrap metal while the owners watched in an effort to educate them. I think I would be doing mankind a great service.

Max Power has died because of internet forums. Why read Max power when you can go on a relevant forum?
Personally I think it looks st. I seem to have much more of a live and let live attitude than most on here (Fred West had more of a "live and let live" attitude than most on here ) so I say good luck to the chap. If it makes him happy and all that, it's not like it's hurting anyone

Not hurting anyone?? It's given me a headache for a start! And what about that poor M3? I bet it was very happy being one of Bavaria's finest, going about it's business with subtle aggression and then BAM, it's turned into the car equivelent of a post op tranny!Oh the humanity.
