Someone drew this to my attention the other day and now I just cannot get the idea out of my head.
I think this would be one hell of an experience. nad reckon my hilux 3.0TDI would be well up to the task!

Anyone been to this in 2009 or 2010?

Saw tv coverage of the 2010 event and it looked fantastic! A standard (or close to) Hilux-type vehicle wouldn't survive it at competitive pace, but if you carried plenty of spares and went with the mindset of finishing rather than racing it might do it.

So you saying i need the bowler nemesis or a kamaz? smile

One thing I got confused with though. entrants are penalised for both arriving later AND earlier than the target time for each section (taken from the rules pdf on their wbsite).... how is this a race then?

Anyway, I would just like to finish (ideally first :P). Think it would be one hell of an adventure with a mate or two.

Someone I know is taking a 2003 Cayenne with over 100k miles on the clock smile

I've been covering it in local news. Friendly men gathering with a couple of nice prepped cars and loads of beer. Some big names too, like Sainz and Al-Attyah.

It's a "Regularity Run", possibly because road racing is illegal in Russia.
