Hi,

I am looking to get a new works car and it needs to be something that will have a good residual for the company. Work have suggested something like a 3-series BMW (not the M3 end of the range!), but I'm not sure I want a BMW. Ideally I'd like something a bit sportier, any suggestions in that sort of budget....

Thanks,
Bongo

Does it have to be brand spanking new to you or could be a pre-reg / nearly new?

What sort of budget? Are you talking base model 316 or fully loaded 335i?

Also what do you consider as more sporty than a 3 Series?

Do you need 4/5 seats and more than 2 doors?

How many miles?

Would something like a Lotus Elise be too sporty??

An Elise would sound ideal to me. I've always wanted a Caterham, but an Elise is probably slightly more practical.

Thanks

I never thought I'd say this but +1 (more down to the fact that 300bhp/ton and I work from two different mindsets, but I do respect him for that and his IMO slightly mad choices)

Don't they do a 1.6 variant too? So still pretty fast, great drive, but also diesel like mpg, fairly low Co2's and probably better residuals than most cars costing similar.
