I think I'm going mad - are the interior plastics dark brown or black?

Black.

The centre console looks brown/grey though.

If I had to guess I'd say the central console is carbon-effect stuff, which photographs funny.

That's a Legacy interior (quite nice given how crap other Subaru interiors are!), the centre console and other bits are a brown-like wood effect surrounding the silver, the top dash plastics are black and bottom half beige.

This image should show it better:

Thanks, just put a deposit down on it without seeing it in the metal so to speak. Seeing it Sunday, but then couldn't work out if it was black or brown. boxedin

hehe That would have been my second guess, but I didn't think they'd go through with such individual wood-effect. Was it an option?

edited after seeing Luke's bought it. smile

Nice cars, will be the replacement for the Omega, pref an Outback one.

As to when, well...... biggrin Need to save up, plus buying a house etc. so maybe a while. Guess they'll get a little cheaper in that time smile

The Outback's the one I'm going for. Can't wait. Took out an auto 330i Touring on Sunday and it really disappointed. Just felt sluggish.

Same as my old one- black with grey central console. Wierdly feels right when you are driving- finger can reach all of the controls of the stereo etc.
Did your have the same beige leather? I'm really coming round to it. Also on ads the satnav screen seems to have a flap/cover thing, but in this one not. Where there two types?

Question- why an auto?
Got the Boxster for gears. Fancy an auto for the Subaru. Just realised the car is also Champagne Gold rather the silver - bloody pictures on Autotrader - it seems fine in the pics. Is it really more of a silver than gold?

Thanks Nick - I'll try to not let the gold put me off too much. Could have sworn it looked silver in the pics though.

The centre console is marble effect grey. You mentioned the BMW felt sluggish; don't expect too much more from the Subauru's autobox; gear change and response time for kickdown is 'slow'. If it's the semi-auto, then the reaction times on that are much better. What model, Legacy or Outback?, and what engine size?

It's the 3.0 Outback. Think I'll get used to the more pedestrian way of doing things.

Non-satnav had the cover for a cubby hole. I had one of these in that interior colour (being pedantic, the centre console surround is grey wood, actually looks pretty good in the flesh IMO). One of the best cars I've ever had, bar the fuel consumption in town. That 3 litre H6 engine makes a nice sound when you give it some. Was totally reliable - only problem I had was some gravel getting jammed in the discs and making a god-awful sound which the local Subaru dealer sorted out for free. Classless and classy car - enjoy!

It's still a great car; and is an ideal compliment to a Porsche, and I'm sure you'll enjoy driving it, but you won't enjoy the fuel consumption. It would be interesting to get your feedback once you have had it for a while.

If you haven't bought it already, look for uneven tire wear when you inspect it, almost certainly a (according to a Subaru dealer)
sign of the bushes needing replacement.
