My neighbourhood has gone downhill a little bit...
Discussion
Until recently, a chap who lives in the road next to mine parked his Lamborghini Gallardo in the street, complete with London parking permit. I walked past it most days and it put a smile on my face to look at this beautiful car, and also to know that I lived in a quality area where someone could be comfortable parking such an expensive car in the street. I certainly never saw any scratches or damage. It did seem a little out of place in our genteel district of SW London, but it was ignored with dignity, even though it was a foot too wide for the parking space
Anyway, this chap (a famous DJ apparently) has chopped it in for a 911 Turbo. It looks very flash and new, and maybe it cost the same or more, but it's no longer anything special. Porsches in London are more common than busses. Lamborghinis, OTOH, are always a bit special.

Sorry mate - entries have closed after your post as you've won by a clear mile. Nice observational post OP. I wish there were more like you who appreciate the good and the great.

Really? I realise that I sound a bit pincer saying this but Gallardos seem to be a common sight in London to me. As for R8s, I've seen less Nissan Jukes.
I do like a 911 turbo though, oh yes.
Ah Nissan Jukes. Massive on the outside but tiny on the inside, bit like a reverse Tardis.......I do like a 911 turbo though, oh yes.
......... a Retardis if you will.

A bit of tongue-in-cheek, but it just brings a smile to my face that someone can park their exotic metal in the public road without fear of it getting keyed, nicked, smashed etc. Great Britain isn't all rubbish (yet). And to those who think I'm knocking Porsches: I'm not. They're great cars I'm sure. Reliable too But are they really as exciting to behold as a Lamborghini?

It brings a smile to my face that someone gets a smile from seeing something exotic and not thinking you bd I hate you.Well done mate - don't ever change!
The nearest I'll get to owning a Lambo is toy one so I love to see one in the streets.

Move to Cardiff then, R8 and GTR everywhere, well I keep seeing them, but never really pay that much attention to them as there may actually be something interesting to look at somewhere else.I do like a 911 turbo though, oh yes.

Oh and I like how auto-correct changed 'poncey' to 'pincer' on my post too.
