Toyota Celica G7 Water ingress.

Hi, my son has a 2000 celica and tells me that there is water getting under the rear seats and into the spare wheel well. So far we have closely inspected the tailgate seal, also we have sat inside while hosing down the car and nothing sign of ingress.
Any ideas would be welcome, thanks Ian.
