On my 04 STI you get a faint knocking noise when the clutch is engaged but disappears when the clutch is disengaged. Any ideas on what it could be?

In neutral? Clutch release bearing possibly?

CRB is a common issue with Caterhams but I have no idea re Subarus. Tbh you're probably better off asking on a marque specific forum.
