Take no notice of them!! Bet they dont realise how comfy that drivers seat is??? I had an R reg 2.0 RXE and I loved it!!!!! would go as far as saying one of the most comfy cars ive ever driven and owned!!!! And it was a dull non metalic dark blue....
yes they are really comfy. They actualy handle quite well to.Hitler Hadrump said:
MK1 Lagunas are supposed to be pretty good, it was the MK2 which really played up the 'unreliable Renault' angle.
IIRC from the Motor trader or whatever magazine we get at work, the Mk2 is mostly the reason why Renault has had such a bad market share in the UK for the past couple of years, purely due to it's god awful reliability. fiveus said:

I sold mine over 6 years ago and still bang on about the drivers seat... Should have kept it and fitted it to my later buys... (the seat that is)

Ok, it doesn't have enough pistons, but that is true of most cars on here.
I really wouldn't worry, you buy a car for youself not for other people.
I've always bought exactly what I've wanted, I have never given a shxt what other people think, including four Citroens. And one was a 2CV.
What probably pees 'em off is that you chose something thats given you 7 years of care free motoring.(assume it's from your mates)
I would just smile and ask them how much they pay each month in car payments then remind them yours is paid for.

I like them. Especially in white. With the numpstrips really glossed up. Lowered on the biggest wheels and a bit of window tinting and I think you can have a great looking car.
As said its comfortable and is a pretty decent steer, compared to the Mondeo and the Vectra of the same age Id go for the Laguna.
