looked very smart, but interior was very average. am i right in saying its a heavily reworked k-series in it?

I really do want to say something nice about the styling but I'm struggling.

I have photos of the car in other mags, the earlier concept was much better looking IMHO.

And emailed. Although I do have to ask if anybody knows why MG looked to the Proton Gen 2 for styling insperation? In certain pictures the two cars very much look like they share design language, hopefully it looks better in the flesh.

I guess the idea is to test things here before retooling up for the domestic (ie chinese) market. Can't see the target UK market moving from their Hyundai or Kia tbh.

It was at MG Live! this year. I thought it looked quite smart personally, may have a couple of photos lying around somewhere.

I think it could benefit from a bigger-engined and sportier model. The re-worked K-series lump may put the head gasket crowd off though.

I can't either (and I'm pro MG).

Kia and Hyundai cars are quite nicely styled these days, the MG6 just doesn't appeal. It's target price is also a fair bit more than the Kia and Hyundai cars.

They could have been for more daring with the styling, I think that would have be the only way to attract people who would otherwise go for the better priced more adventurously styled, long warrantied rivals.

Front wheel arch forwards in that shot it looks a little like a Monaro, the rest of it is horrid.

Oh dear indeed.

I'm going to initially be kind and suggest that colour does it no favours, if anyone is handy with photoshop could they play around with the colours? I'd suggest black may be more flattering (yeah a black marker and obliterate it).

Right that's me shifted away from kind , it's just a layman's opinion but the car sits too high, the bonnet is either too long or the windscreen/A pillars sweep too early, there's very little flat area on the roof before it sweeps again, I also don't think it works as a hatchback and may well look better as a saloon.

Apart from that it's magic.

And hides the rear boot line, which on the gold hatch above makes it look like it has wheels from a tesco shopping trolley fitted.

Looks 100 times better in that photo.

The bronze car's hardly a flattering angle.

I'll withhold judgement until I've seen one in the metal, but the red car looks better and the 'fastback' roofline makes a change.
