Best way to get test drive/potential purchase?
Discussion
Thinking of changing car, quite a few main dealers of the marque in the area.
Curious how you approach getting an initial test drive?
My position is simple, I'm looking to change, I like the model I'm interested in, but I haven't driven one.
By all accounts the automatics are scarce as demonstrators but as that's what I might be interested in I'd want to try one.
There's enough real tyre-kickers out there that I don't really know why I'm thinking about it, but I'd be interested in how you approach it when all the dealer seems to want to hear is "Do you want to buy one now?".

They WANT you to drive their cars.
Unless they have reason to suspect you're a complete time waster then you really shouldn't have an issue.
Certainly not wasting their time, but curious if being absolutely honest i.e. "If I like it I'll want to think about it" truly is the best policy.Unless they have reason to suspect you're a complete time waster then you really shouldn't have an issue.
