Total horlicks if they want to end the "war on motorists" they would stop
the charging of vat ON TOP OF fuel duty tax on a tax (which i thought was illegal?)
Or scrap the useless VED and absorb it to general taxation seeing as thats what its
used for anyhow. and the disks are useless as an officer has only to enquire
on the pnc to check the motors status. making the disk redundant and a waste
of paper so they could dress it up as a green initiative.

It's good news. Flats were allocated, if I remember correctly from a conversation with an architect friend, 0.8 of a space. Bonkers.
Not really bonkers- probably less than 80% of residents have cars, and if you need an apartment with a parking space then you should buy one with a space. Simple.jbi said:

Illegal? Why?the charging of vat ON TOP OF fuel duty tax on a tax (which i thought was illegal?}
however with fuel it's billed as fuel + duty = sub tot + vat so you are paying
vat on the 80ish % tax how the cheese hat can that be in any way fair or legal?
VAT was a temporary luxury tax (ye right) in what way mr f-in chancellor is
fuel duty a LUXURY.
They must either merge the two or remove one ( like thats going to happen )

Just in case anyone was daft enough to think that the end of New Labour would be the end of "spin"; why is this being announced today?
VAT going up tomorrow?So we'll be happy with less parking spaces at new builds and an email sent to councils suggesting they might light to reduce one of their primary income sources.
What's not to like?

This is a drop in the ocean. I don't really see there as being a 'war' on motorists anyway. Driving is an expensive business.
