changed speedo pod for m.o.t
Discussion
I have fitted a new speedo pod to my girlfriends seicento because the fuel gauge, lights, and various other problems kept occuring. The mileage of the car is 49,000, however the only part I could find was 110,000 miles, it unfortunately is also due for an m.o.t, what will go on with the mileage?? and also she wants to keep it for a year then sell it and get something bigger, what mileage do I advertise the car? I have a feeling the only thing I can do is keep the old clock and try and show this as proof to the potential buyer who no doubt would not beleive a word I am saying. Has this stupid problem now added 60,000 miles to her car? any help would be greatly appreciated
assuming its anologue just found this on google http://www.jdo1.com/Mileage-Correction.html but if it's digital i think any auto electrician will be able to do it.
Seicento clocks are mechanical, which is a little more fiddly but there are people who would do it.
Otherwise just keep a record of milages on both clocks when it was changed, and perhps a couple of photos of old coming out and new going in. Your MOT slips will say you have covered over 60,000 miles in one year which is pretty unrealistic for a Seicento, so I doubt you'd have any trouble convincing people.
