Got a call of a mate this morning going 'Er your back window is smashed mate'
Oh bloody brilliant, so I went to have a look, as we had parked up the road as a van was blocking our drive last night.

I was expecting it to be the side window, no it was the rear windscreen. fkers!

Not even had the car 2 months yet!!

Any one else have any bother?

Bad luck mate, try contacting the local council if there is any CCTV coverage of the area.

Yeah I've read and replyed to your post the other day, I said it would be great to catch them at it!!

I wouldnt even bother with CCTV or the Police dude.

Just put it down to some bad luck, it wasnt personal to you.

Is there a bright side? did you have any chips in your windscreen? A brand new ultra clear windscreen is lovley to have.

Make sure they replace it with an original one

Its the rear screen thats been smashed, glass everywhere even as far as the dashbaud!

Hard luck, same thing happened to a mate this time last year, luckily there was CCTV on his house and the culprit was fined for a new rear window and compenstion.

OH's car was keyed on Christmas eve/day. It put a rather large dampener on the festivities.

Yep, thats one of the problems, glass gets everywhere. My lasses tailgate still has fragments of glass inside which can be heard when opening/closing the boot, and the car now stinks as a result of the damp that resulted.

These people are just cowards and a total waste of human DNA.

All we could do was tape a plastic sheet over it.

First seal it up with a polythene sheet or bags to stop it getting wet.
Then contact your insurance company for their 'approved' glass company (probably Autoglass) and get them to come out and fit a nice shiny new one.
Generally it will cost you £25-£50 excess and you do not lose your NCD.

If has a drop pavement they cannot block a drive .
Its a police matter then ?.

Sadly there is nothing you can do to catch the little sods and the police won't help, or even bother to try. I had a car window smashed once and about £800 of bits and bobs stolen from it. I immediately went to report it to the police who couldn't have expressed any less interest in the matter. Unless the crime is in progress they won't even look into it - this is my perception anyway.

Happened to me a few years ago, I was working in the midlands getting up at four every bloody day trying to make a contract I had pay. Found a pub that had a really good security fence around the car park as we had expensive kit to carry out our work. A huge stone hurled over the fence and thro the back window of our pickup, it wasnt even day light when we tried to clear out the glass, why do we bother when forty percent of what we earn goes to the arse wipes who do this stuff
