Subaru WRX STI Competition

Tell us about your car and you could win this WRX STI

As a PHer the chances are that you own more than one car, and even if you only have one, the classifieds or dealer showrooms will no doubt draw you in on a regular basis as you calculate ways to get into something new. At PistonHeads HQ, we like to read about your cars, and spend as much time reading the entries within the members section as we do perusing the classifieds.

Within the WRX STI micro site you'll find real-life experiences of what it's like to live with some of the most interesting cars ever built. If you are wondering where this section is, take a look at the 'garages' tab in the members section. Here you can blog about your car, add pictures, tell us about running costs and depreciation or simply wax lyrical about why you like (or dislike) your current wheels, and we'd like you to tell us more.

We would like you to help us make the readers garage section a useful addition to the site, and ask that you tell us all about your cars, or at least post up some pictures and a few words. It would help us to create one of the largest real-world guides to running some of the most interesting cars available, and would be an interesting read too.

To incentivise you to complete your garage, Subaru UK has agreed to give a brand new WRX STI to the PHer with what we judge to be the best 'my garage' entry on the site. This isn't a temporary loan for a weekend; this is your chance to win a brand new Subaru WRX STI to keep. Forever. Riggers has driven it for PistonHeads and he loved it, calling it one of the best cars he has ever driven - high praise indeed. If you want to know more about the car, click on the road test, watch the video or check the technical specifications contained within this microsite.

To enter (and why wouldn't you), all you need to do is submit your garage to us and we'll award the car to what we believe to be the best garage entry on PistonHeads. You don't need to own a Ferrari and you don't have to have multiple cars either; you can be in with a chance of winning regardless of what you drive.

We'll be looking for interesting content, so add some pictures and tell us what you like about it in your intro, detail your running costs and blog about what life is like with your car. Imagine you are writing about it as part of a PH feature or a 'fleet' update in your favourite car magazine, and you'll get the idea.

We'll be looking at all of the above criteria when judging, but extra points will be added for humour, great stories, multiple images and originality.

Finally, you'll need to tell us in no more than 30 words why you would like to win the WRX STI, a predictable but time-tested finale to any competition entry.

To submit your garage click the link on this page, or if you prefer head to the 'my garage' section and click on the link there.

We look forward to reading your submissions and hope that it's you who gets to write about a new Subaru WRX STI very soon.

Terms and conditions:

  1. Entries close: 11.59pm on 30th November 2010.
  2. Open to UK residents aged 18 or over
  3. No cash alternative. Prizes are non-transferable.
  4. Only one entry per person.
  5. For full terms and conditions see www.pistonheads.com/subsite/WRXSTI/terms.htm

What would help the "My garage" section is a more formal method of naming the cars. At the moment searching for cars to read about is a bit of a nightmare depending on how people have named them, with and without spaces, engine sizes, abbreviations etc etc etc.

EG: http://www.pistonheads.com/members/fleet.asp?m=9&a...

The variety of input on just on a V8 Vantage is enormous and doesn't lend itself well to reviewing a car without multiple searches / clicks etc.

On topic: I'll be submit my pisspoor garage - just on the off chance!

Seriously, someone will.

It's about the quality of writing and effort within your submitted garage, not the metal.

Will the garage contents be checked for authenticity? I don't want to be outed as a low budget Dokic.

I was going to enter but 2 things made me decide not to bother.

1)I've only had the puma for a month so dont really have alot to say about it.

2)I couldn't afford to insure the car if I won it anyway, so what would be the point?

It was the Lambo R/C car I wanted, no insurance you see.

Really like that car! Boxer engine sounds amazing in the promo video smile.

I've been meaning to do a proper write up/my garage type thing for ages! Just thought nobody would be interested with the in and outs of a 1.2 clio whistle despite getting an A+ for effort its 75 rampaging stallions aren't exactly going to set to road on fire, or be that inspiring/interesting next to some of the other metal listed on this site.

ETA:

Slight problem already... my car is at home and I'm at uni so doing a write up could be somewhat difficult ... drat.

Probably wouldn't even get insured on it even at 20 as well.

cry

Also, do detailed build threads count? As there are some really amazingly detailed ones about on here such as Track_Cit's build thread

What a fantastically unbiased Road Test.... hehe

But seriously, great prize, they really are fantastic cars if you can get past the looks and awful interior quality.

As i won't be in the country for 2 years i'll not enter this one, gotta give others a chance... wink

For reasons posted above, i'm not going to enter.

Being only 19 i struggle to get insured on my 1.6 Citroen C2 GT (Hello limited edition wink ) let alone this marvelous piece of machinery.

If you offered that RS Clio 200 cup you had…i would definitely be upgrading 'my garage'.
