Diving hioliday suggestions...
Discussion
... ok looking to go on holiday (without girlfriend) and do a weeks diving, have done my open water but not done any more than this.
Looking to go next month and don't really fancy Egypt as it is Ramadan and think 40 degrees will be uncomfortably hot!!
Any advice or experiences welcome. Thanks in advance
(Mods please move if in the wrong place)

Egypt won't be that much of pain during ramadan in fact I would imgaine that in places like sharm and dahab you would hardly notice anything different. The heat can be a bit too much though but if your diving then your going to be in the water anyway. Dahab is all shore diving with the Canyon being the pick of the bunch but this is a deep site. I went to Dahab about a month ago and I spent a total if 500 notes and this included my flight, a trip to the thistlegorm and other dives.
Thailand, its cheap, cheap as chips if I am honest. Head to Koh Tao and dive there, small island, plenty of places to eat and drink and the diving is OK, none of the sites apart from Chumpon, South west pinnacle and Sail rock are deep and these aren't that deep.
Goa - Dunno but its monsoon season now so unless you want to dive in brown sea's, strong currents and the likes then don't bother.

Liveaboard holiday in Egypt avoids the heat (it stays much cooler at sea than on land) and Ramadan, although the touristy places go on catering to tourists regardless.
Worth getting your Advanced Open Water out of the way first though, most liveaboard schedules will go for deeper dives from the off.
If you do want shore-based, Dahab is nicer than Sharm/Hurghada and all the diving is straight off the shore - either walk there or they take you in a pick-up truck. Better than the bus to marina, then on a boat to the dive site faffing about that you get in Sharm.

Belize mate was there a few years ago with work, amazing diving place called the Blue hole check it oot!
The Blue hole in Belize is a deep dive site. You go to at least 44M to see the main attraction (stalictites) and this is well beyond Open Water limits. The liveaboard is a good idea, it will be cooler on the sea and the diving is a lot better though, you will need your AOW.

....Gozo....and island next to Malta has some very good diving....OK not a huge amount of fish life but some very good scenic dives.....plenty of wall diving plus caves also a few wrecks......nice Island...nice people....I learned to dive there many years ago.....
+1. Was out there in May, great diving for a week. Do some of the dives off Comino if you do go, there's a wreck 15m deep well worth a visit.
Bizarre retro Ford vibe happening on the island as well, couldn't move for the things.
