I know it's not all of you, but I could do without Corsas up my arse (not literally).

What sort of makes life difficult for a learner driver I have no idea.

Don't worry, Tom, if they tailgate then one day they'll get theirs. Relax, don't let it bother you, and leave a larger gap to the car in front so you can slow down as gently as possible. This has the side benefit that they may even work out how to overtake you.

Erm, there's something wrong about this post...I'm thinking...oh yeah! That's it! Corsa's aren't a good car, ergo the PH population at large don't drive them.

Preaching to the wrong crowd my son...

Normally nice to learners, do wish they would avoid rush time traffic routes at pick times though...

Eventually they have to deal with that too, though. Good instructors normally only expose them to the most difficult environments once they're ready for it.

The folk who do this don't just do it to learners so you'll have to get used to the idiots.

Funnily enough it was a corsa tailgating me that ended up stuck on the rear of my van after I had to do an emergency stop when a bunny ran across the road hehe

Let's just say that Halfords tat does not hold up well to a rear "safety" tow bar...nor does the radiator laugh

Van was fine :-)

I had one yesterday with P plates on, crossed over the line at the lights turning left, got stuck until lights changed to red and then stalled.

I went through my light on green and had to wait for her to sort herself out.

I just waited patiently, theres no point blaring your horn and shouting it will just make them even more flustered and take even longer.

Still it took a will of iron! wink

I'm gentle with learners as long as they avoid major roads until they're competent enough to use them.

The times I see learner cars travelling at 30-40mph on a dual carriageway or major A road makes it small wonder they're intimidated.

I have no pent up agression, I really enjoy my Corsa...I've taken it on a fair few hoons and it's pace has impressed, expecially through the narrow highland roads.

Its true!

But back to learner drivers. I'm a learner at the moment and I've noticed a hell of a lot more tailgaters on my arse than when I'm out with anyone else. The other day coming back from the cinema with my brother, I was driving and I was BANG on 30mph so keeping pace up the road and I have a 3 series up my arse the whole way up the road til my turning, which I took quite quickly (15-20mph) and guess what he does as I'm pulling in? Swerves on to he wrong side of the road and guns it past me! Why?!
Luckily I have a good memory and I have seen mr black 3 series S** 143 going up the same road, completely normally!

What does the L plate do that makes other drivers act like complete knobs?

Most people are courteous of learners. I am sure the few that are not will not be swayed by this post, but nice one for trying anyway!

unfortunately not all instructors are good though, one of my friends on his first lesson drove 6 miles along main roads, during rush hour, after only 40 minutes practice. He stalled at every junction and got stuck on a blind hill, having to swap with the instructor to do a hill start due to the gradient. Caused utter chaos.

I hate to get off topic but seriously: "I had to do an emergency stop when a bunny ran across the road" you HAD to?
