Accident management co's
Discussion
Hi folks,
anyone got any experience of these accident management companies?
I'm thinking of the type that give you a like for like car for the duration yours is being repaired
Unfortunately, just 2 days after owning my E46 M3 (my pride and joy) the neighbours brother has swung out of their drive and side swiped my drivers door with the front of his hired Vauxhall
I'm "mildly" upset

Ive heard good reports of europa from the vx fold, the replacements for the vx220's were always new elises, and repairs done at the place you choose.
If theres no doubt of fault then thats the way to go, they will get you driving a brand new M3 straight away. Only thing you gotta do then is come round here and give me a go!!

Just make sure there's absolutely no way the accident management company will hold you liable for the hire charges in the event the other parties insurer tells them to foxtrot oscar when they present their bill.
Horror stories abound of hire bills being immense and insurers do not cheerfully pay such bills. There's a guy on the HonestJohn forum being sued for £7K for 5 weeks hire of a 5 Series. Courts have ruled that you have a duty to minimise the costs so if you don't have a proven need for a particular vehicle then a Judge will ask you think you're so special that you couldn't manage with a Ford Ka for a few days like most other people do.
You may think, ""sod that, I'm liking the "sports" list"", but these claims *vastly* increase the size of the repair bill, and we all have to pay for that in increased premiums.

I've long believed that is the kind of stuff insurers like you to believe, when all said and done on my quotes for the M3 I had quotes between £349 and over £3k - when all is said and done you go for the best combo of price and serviceHorror stories abound of hire bills being immense and insurers do not cheerfully pay such bills. Whereas people like the tool who drove into my PAJ will carry on paying large premiums
I have no intention of being silly about it, but the car would probably need 3-4 days in the body shop and for that time I want to be in a car of similar quality of that which I've been put out of by someone elses incompetence, not a Ka

The people paying the premiums are the one eyes having the accidents.
More people should use these companys and rape the insurance of these eye deficient fools.
There is no reason to go knock for knock like in days of old, it increases everyones premiums not just the people who deserve it.

It is rather naive to think that we all won't bear increase in premiums if the costs involved in a claim drastically increase.More people should use these companys and rape the insurance of these eye deficient fools.

I know uninsured drivers put premiums up, but why should I not claim for fear of rising premiums when everone else claims? Its like me buying a Toyota Prius to save the planet while everyone else has a Ferrari.

If the use of accident management companies increases then we will all have to accept an increase in premiums as a result, how else will the insurers recoup their losses?

I'm not saying anyone should suffer if someone crashes into their car but accidents happen even to the best of us (or perhaps even close friends and family, if you can't bear the thought that you might be fallible yourself) - how would you feel if a job that was a few hundred pounds suddenly became several thousand?

It's like saying because you're being paid expenses on a business trip why don't you cook with tesco value products as anything more will increase the costs that will come to bear on the end consumer.I'm not saying anyone should suffer if someone crashes into their car but accidents happen even to the best of us (or perhaps even close friends and family, if you can't bear the thought that you might be fallible yourself) - how would you feel if a job that was a few hundred pounds suddenly became several thousand?
It's a standard to which you are accustomed, through no fault of your own you have temporarily lost that so in recompense you expect your car fixed to factory standard and a like for like car to replace it.
How about saving on coats of paint, or lacquer? That'd make it cheaper still surely.
