Try posting this in the Ferrari section as well. You might get more replies.

That URL belongs to http://www.vftis.com, I cant see anything on their website that would tie them to Ferrari.................feel free to draw your own conclusions

If you want to work for a UK based dealer or specialist probably best to contact them directly

As someone doing an apprenticeship with a high end marque I'd honestly not get too caught up with what brand you'll end up working at. While having it on your CV is pretty good it doesn't mean that you will be better trained (or paid!) better than somebody coming out of the scheme of a 'lesser' brand.

Granted the Ferrari scheme could be completely different, but something to bare in mind smile.

Is there age discrimination for this type of apprenticeship? My fiancé wants a career change. Could make herself useful if she learns a little about mechanics (sadly I don't have a Ferrari though!).

Best friend worked for Gray Paul in nottingham, under an appreticeship scheme. Said it was a load of bks and walked out. They would want you to stop behind, but would not pay you the over time (did at first, then money started getting thin). Several 'technicans' left, and so did my friend shortly after. Money was around £1000 after the qualification. He walked out as he said they would not give him a rise, and now works full time for a specialist near manchester. He does around 140 mile a day commute and says he is better off

Two things....

When you're away at college, you won't be working on Ferraris, you'll be working on Fiats, because their appreticeship training is done in the same place by the same technical trainers, and....

It doesn't matter what your learn on or work on, cars are just nuts and bolts (yes yes a Ferrari F430 is nicer than Ford Mondeo blah blah) but from a mechanical point of view, an engine is still an engine, a gearbox still a gearbox, brakes are still just brakes and rattles and squeaks are still rattles and squeaks.....

Don't get me wrong, workig on Ferrari's is great, but they still have to be fixed, you still get dirty, a service takes 20 times longer, if you make a mistake, it'll cost more to put right and forget test driving them until you're at least 25 (And don't expect a huge chunk of extra money for working on them, especially as an apprentice, you'll be earning the same as any other apprentice)

but think of the private jobs! not on brand new ferrari's but there will be people wanting to save money from dealers prices but still have their car worked on by a qualified ferrari technician. you will be doing the same sort of work as a technician servicing a mondeo at home, taking the same amount of time to do the jobs but you get the benefit of adding Ferrari tax!

Careful! That's a good way to get fired too.
