Just driven through Gloucester and while stopped at the lights I started studying a white Rangie. I couldn’t believe the state of this, complete with ditch finder tyres with chunks taken out.

The rear wheel was the same and I’d hazard a guess both on the other side were in the same state!

What's the point of any decent tyres or wheels at the moment...??

Cars have to be fit for the road and road worthy...

But the roads don't have to be fit for cars (or other vehicles..)

Pot holes are just mental at the moment... and getting worse especially where Gloucestershire roads go across the county boundaries... Herefordshire, Monmouthshire, Oxfordshire etc...

With the state of the roads at the moment I wouldn't be suprised if those wheels were pristine at the start of their journey biggrin

I can’t see how you could beat that. Every mm is damaged.

You just know all 4 corners of that car will be scraped to hell.

Quite a gouge in the drivers door too.

Clearly not a vehicle that's cared for, but then it's a white Range Rover with (mostly) black wheels... it probably looks as rough as the council estate it lives on. scratchchin

They've done well to get every inch of paint off the edges.
Clearly a touch-parker.

Not sure those wheels are refurb-able, the state of the edge.

True, but nothing to do with kerbed wheel example the OP put biggrin

People say "don't stereotype" but white Range Rover with blacked out gills, wheels etc. (I'd bet the windows were tinted too) having badly kerbed wheels as the driver is crap! biggrin

I'd also bet that damaged tyre will remain in place until it fails the next MOT.

And then they will put some part worn ditch finders on. I was surprised how many Range Rovers were at the part worn tyres place my wife used to go to.

Any company car parked in our works car park. I took the car allowance, but most people got a new company car every three years. They would talk about it endlessly, how they were "going to get the T ROC, they are beautiful"

You would then see it in the carpark a year or two later, every wheel kerbed to death, never been washed, the interior looking like a childs playpen in a cheche, sides looking like a rake had been dragged down the side.

Then they would leave and it would be parked up for a few months until someone new started and they "inherited" the health hazard. You could see they were literally counting down the days until it went back to the lease company and they could pick their own car, and most likely treat it the same way.

That wheel has clearly has a cheap spray over in black I assume to cover up previous damage, and then once thats been caught its just flaked off.

Alot of that is the silver paint not curb rash. Though the damage that has been done is pretty impressive.

Oddly, no the windows weren’t tinted! Driven by an elderly Indian gentleman who could barely see over the steering wheel…which probably accounts for the state of the wheels!

The fact that those started out as diamond cut wheels, means they have been refurbed/resprayed (as previously pointed out) - one owner car? biglaugh
