Sitting over a beer with french adverts on for eclerc servicing they do and i wouldnt go with a service here but when checking the price of 5l of oil here it's half the price for 5w30 helix 5l.

Does anyone else stock up on oil for the next change when driving abroad?

No but it’s an interesting point.

I am on the way back from Britanny tomorrow and we are going to Leclerc for a few bottles of wine etc.

I’ll have a look at oil while I’m there. To be fair both my MG Rover cars use 10w 40 so I get the 20L Mannol drum, but nonetheless it’ll be interesting to see the difference.

It’s not cheap everywhere in France. In fact it’s an absolute rip off in places like Bricomarche.

How cheap is cheap?

5 litres of oil is circa £30 in the UK.
Whats the price in France?

I used to buy a fair amount when in France but for many years now there doesn't seem to have been much difference in price, added to the fact that I tend to buy 20-litre containers now.

Provided it meets the correct spec, why not?
