Those that run 2 vehicles who have you used to insure your cars if you only have 1 set of full no claims?

Basically Struggling to find one currently that will honor it, Problem I'm find is i use a VW transporter as a daily and want something more fun for occasional use, so have an issue with the van is classed as a commercial vehicle as as soon as I add a car it breaks their system hahah

I use multi-car policies; They won't honour 1 set of NCs on multiple vehicles, but they do give discounts (sometimes, as much as the original NC anyway). Then you accrue new NC per car. I use Admiral annnd.... Aviva I think.

I have two cars and two sets of NCD, one for each car. You may be able to do it on a Multicar policy but when I bought a second car I had to start again with 0 NCD on that car.
I've only ever had an insurer question it once and when I explained I had two lots of NCD they were absolutely fine with it

Some Insurers (I use Axa) allow you to mirror your no claims if you take out another policy with them. Then at the end of the second policys term you get max no-claims even if you move to another Insurer.

I first got a 2nd car in 2014 and my local A-Plan office (now called Howden) found me a policy with Allianz where they would mirror the NCD on my other car, and now I have full NCD on both.

If the 2nd car qualified as a classic it wouldn't be a problem as most classic car insurers don't apply NCD.

I've had this gripe for years... I earned the NCB just like I earned the 3 points for doing 50mph in a 40mph limit, yet I can only apply my NCB to one policy yet points apply to all. Some insurers will "mirror" your NCB on to a second policy, others will give you a favourable rate but I've found that if each car is insured through different providers, the second policy is likely to be treated as 0 NCB. Unfortunately that means trying to align the polices and get a multi-car (though sometimes they're dearer) or basically ring round to see who'll offer the best rates.

I found Adrian Flux to be fairly decent in this situation, though I went away from them for a few years but have insured my car (also a Transporter) with them for the past two years and had a second car on and off and they always did really well for the second - though it was borderline classic so then you're into the realms of limited mileage policies / agreed value or classic and on some classic policies, you don't earn NCB anyway.

Bit of a minefield and sadly, only likely to be answered by making a few calls as we all have unique circumstances so what works for one, may not work for another.

Exactly what I managed to do.

I had multi car policies originally, which gave me no claims that matched across the three but I have since found I've had other insurers match it across vehicles.

I called Esure regarding one policy and the guy on the phone obviously got another policy up, realised the no claims wasn't matched and offered to change it for me.
