Just like estates are ALWAYS the best of the breed, pretty sure that ALL cars look better on steelies. Including - below - Defenders where alloys are always rubbish. Just wish there were more that fitted over larger brakes on modern cars. A few examples of cars where the steel option is always better:

Now try it again with cars made in the last twenty or so years...

The Defender, yes, the Mini and the VW just look like you've bought the base version and the 1 series looks like you've bought the base version AND lost your wheel trims!

I have nothing against steelies by the way, the cars in the OP look superb.

That's my M140i and the x1 winter steelies I have for it. I do have some proper BMW 17" wheel trims but I think it looks better with the plain steel wheels, I think if they were silver it would look a bit better but certainly not as nice as it does on alloys.

7.5 x 17 square set up. They were new on and genuine winter steels, but they don’t have the best coating on them from new. Dropping them off when I swap them over and having a fresh coat of silver powder on them.

This would look better on wires and two ear spinners. Otherwise, I agree.

I don't want to be that guy, but steel is an alloy.

My car, run steels all year round. Nothing custom/special either, just steels for a Vauxhall Tigra Twin Top. £35 each a few years ago.
