Hi there,

I currently have an SQ5 diesel and MK7 Golf R. After driving the Golf recently, it isn't the last word at all in driver satisfaction but has reminded me that hot hatches are my preference and the SQ5 feels a bit like a fast boat now to drive.

The SQ5 is going back shortly so am now tempted to change it for either a 2021 onwards RS3 or A45S. I have had the current shape A class before, albeit a diesel one a few years ago. I just wanted to ask if anyone has had any experience of both and what your thoughts are? I will be doing 15-20k miles a year (75% of which are for work trips) so am keen to find out what positives and negatives people might have of them. I am leaning towards the RS3 for the engine and the reviews imply the A45 might seem a little tiring for want of a better word. However, it does sound like it might be more exciting. But the RS3 again from the reviews, looks like it might be the better all rounder.

Any advice would be hugely appreciated! smile

Thank you very much indeed and didn't know this video existed! smile Great to watch! I forgot to note, I have two kids so as much as I would like a GRY, I need something a little more practical, hence the Merc or Audi! Very interesting feedback on the Merc in this vid. Really like the honest feedback for all of the cars. Evo is great at these reviews - just didn't realise there was one for these cars!

If you haven’t had a car with Audi’s infamous five cylinder engine before then that would be the deciding factor for me. It’s a heck of an engine, I have it in a TTRS 2018 and it’s as interesting as the flat six in my previous Porsche.

It's just new to YT, following on from the magazine's 'road test' in this month's issue. It has a lot more detail in the magazine; probably worth spending a few quid.

Good luck!
