Driving other cars clause - which policy to claim from
Discussion
I have a few cars with different insurance policies. They all have a driving other cars extension. In the event of me having an accident when driving my wifes (or someone else's) car which policy is in force? I mean can I just choose the policy with the lowest amount of no claims or is there some other way this works?
Edited to add that I do realise this cover is 3rd party only, but the question assumes the accident is with another vehicle.

On your wifes car.
I assume you are a named driver?
If so that policy would cover that one.
If driving someonelses car then it would be covered under the policy for the car you use most often(daily driver).
Why are you paying for all polcies to have this cover when one policy with it would cover all these?
As if you have a crash it will affect all your policies anyway.

The cover came as standard on pretty much every policy I have. There was no discount for not having it.I assume you are a named driver?

If driving someone else's car and you have a major incident the costs will be split across all policies with the DOC extension, it would not be your choice to chose which one
Thanks - that's the scenario I was thinking about. So when passing my details to the other driver, I thought I would nominate a particular company, so how does this work in practice?cashmax said:

Alternatively, ring one of your insurers and ask them what you should do in that scenario.
