Was just about to convert a boat load of Nectar points for an eBay purchase ( motoring related of course ) smile, to find some Richard Sole or Wayne Kerr had kindly spent 54,500 of MY nectar points in a Sainsbury's supermarket last Sunday. WTF ?!? That's £272.50's worth. It's not a branch I've ever visited either.

I have my nectar card in my wallet. At no point have I received any Nectar e-mail correspondence about the transaction, nor any SMS texts to authorise any transactions.

So, anyone got any ideas how this can happen ?

I've had a webchat with Nectar and they have agreed the transaction is fraudulent and have promised to cancel my card and issue me with a replacement + promised to return all the points I lost. Fair enough, but..... Is it simply a case of someone guessed a valid nectar card in store and asked to pay using points, even though they didn't have the ( my ) card ? Can't get my head around how this can happen without me knowing...
