I'm looking at a car at the moment but there's something in the history I don't understand. Basically the car (a 2014) had a plate change in '15 from BP14 *** to K19 ***.

This was nine years ago and it's changed owners a couple of times since then so I assume it's all above board. Carvertical has everything as just fine.

The thing I don't get though is that the plate makes it look like a '19 which I understand to be against the rules of a private plate as it makes it look newer. The only thing I can think of is that the '19 plate was around in '15 so therefore wouldn't count for that maybe?

Any other ideas?

As it only has one letter at the beginning it's a 'K' reg which is iirc 1991-2
