Hi all.
I've had an insurance policy cancelled. On digging I found my points where not declared on the proposal document. BUT I have check the comparison website and they WERE entered.
Has anyone experienced anything like this? Is this enough mitigation to have the cancellation marker removed? Yes I should have checked the proposal document before inception but that makes be stupid not a fraudster.
Thanks in advance.

People can have their policy cancelled for all kinds of reasons, over and above being a fraudster. Being disorganised (not having the money in your account to pay the direct debit). Stupidity is also a perfectly valid reason for cancellation. I don't think you have any chance of getting the cancellation rescinded.

Breaking this down.

The information, and saved state of your information on the comparison website duely notes all.

But your policy documents do not reflect this.

As a result, your provider has cancelled your insurance based on your failure to disclose the points.

How long from inception to cancellation?

Screenshot and document every quote and email you obtained while searching for coverage. (where the full information is shown)

Contact your current insurer and explain the issue.

Contact the ombudsman and explain the issue.

Going forward, read documentation more thoroughly.

Hi
Thanks. I've DSARd the comparison site which I'm hoping will list dates and times of searches and can prove the information was provided. 6 days between purchase and inception. Policy cancelled on inception date.

No evidence of misrepresentation or intentional fraud. Data transfer primarily to blame.

However I didn't read proposal and check for inaccuracy. That makes me a tt not a fraudster and cancellation marker for fraud is unduly harsh imo

It's not a cancellation marker for fraud. It's just a cancellation marker.

I cannot find my original post. But I wanted to update. I have been successful in having the fraud marker removed from my record. Go skippy underwritten by sommerset Bridge were a nightmare to deal with and tried to phob me off at every turn. Quite simply I couldn't let them and persisted.
They finally admitted that the error was due to a wrong account number being entered on the system. Claiming it was my fault however but removing the fraud marker.

Sorry for the rushed post but if anyone else is experiencing this problem I hope it provides some hope.
