So I just bought this plate, never owned a private plate, always thought they were a bit sad/tacky.

Then I saw something like W44 NKK on a golf a few years ago that made me laugh..out loud......like a child. This is a well used negative term between me and my immature, middle aged friends.

I am middle aged. Finance worker. I have a wife and small child.

Got a bit of a bonus so thought I'd treat myself....wife won't allow me to put it on our sole, family car (c63 6.2 wagon) so I'll need to wait until I can get something else too.

Have I lost my mind or am I a comedy genius?

Discuss.

4d is the squared off lettering right? 3d is rounded?

Not sure I could take things that far....

Yeah, one way of looking at it...

But yep, I would smile if I saw that.

It wouldn't even register as a smutty plate, to me.

Even if I actively thought about it, it wouldn't cross my mind. I'd wonder if it was meant to look like WEE or if it belonged to Norman Nelson King or something but, in truth, it wouldn't register at all, just a plate.

I opened this thread thinking that you'd perhaps bought a well known car with maybe a bit of a dodgy history. It never occurred to me that the plate might spell something.

Still doesn't, TBH

If I was 14 I might be impressed.
However, I'm not, so when I see plates like that I usually keep a wide berth.

Sorry.

I'd probably notice, but then someone near me has a plate which I think is supposed to say "Walker" but I just read it as "wker".

Man who spent money on attention seeking numberplate to get noticed by total strangers also seeks attention online from total strangers.

Have you considered less money on numberplates, more on mental health professionals? hehe

Joking aside that would make me smirk if I saw it, particularly if it was on something wk like an Audi S Line Black Edition Ultra Night Limited Edition ARSE-Tronic.

To be fair, I think I'd snigger slightly if I saw it, but probably wouldn't want anyone to think I'd chosen it.

After a lifetime thinking private plates were a bit naff I finally succumbed last year. When I was well along the process of buying an SL I bought OH10 RDW to go on it because it's not too obviously try-hard and it makes me smile. Unfortunately, for various reasons, I still haven't bought the SL, including that the car I was planning on trading in developed a minor but obvious fault that I've been chasing ever since, and I'm no longer doing the job I wanted it for anyway.

I could put it on the E63 but I never really imagined Janis as a fast estate kind of lady, so I'm now sort of forced to buy a convertible Mercedes to go with my numberplate whether I want one or not. The crosses we have to bear...

I've always thought private plates were W44 NKY as it gets but have ended up with one because it came on a car I bought. I hadn't even realised it wasn't the standard plate though, so like yours it doesn't have the small dick energy that most plates bring to the road hehe

If you're looking at SLs you might be interested to know the R231 is taking a huge, savage beating at trade which should filter through into private and retail soon.

A mid miles SL500 is ~£20k now and early SL350s are down to £13k with 40k on the clock, this is also putting significant downward pressure on R230 values; there is a dealer trade in 2010 SL63 AMG in blue with 51k on the clock and a CAP of £17,600 going through at BCA on Monday. If I'd spent £15k on a 300bhp SL500 in lockdown because I was bored I think I'd be feeling a bit sad.

The R230 is much prettier, but the R231 is a much better car.

Anyway, back to W66 NNKing about plates hehe
