I Recently bought another vehicle which has a broken number plate ,
I don’t have the logbook yet to get a new plate but I was reading on here road spec show plates on ebay are ok but these sellers do also state to show them relevant details of ownership

I think it’s a very daft I can’t just take the broken one to Halfords with a driving license
Has anyone ordered one off eBay recently?

There are definitely sites / sellers that will make you 'show plates' with no ID / documentation..

I can't think of a specific one to recommend but whenever I've bought from ebay for car or bike, they've never requested any info.

I've used - https://www.platesforcars.co.uk/ - for the last couple of plates i've needed which were a new front plate for my 205 GTI (made to replicate the original dealer plate) and a pair for my Focus RS.

Republic of Ireland based but made / delivered very quickly and without the need for scanned paperwork.

You can take the new keeper slip in instead.

Jumping on an old thread here but never had to order new plates and find myself in this position. There are loads of options online, can anyone recommend a reliable company? I went to Halfords today and they can do it while you wait but they come with their logo on the bottom. They said any company that makes them has to have their details on the plate. Iis this correct? Ideally I want a clean look with no branding on, and no holes as I will use double sided tape.

TIA

Fancy plates.com

When you order, you can choose no text. I've used them a number of times, although on the last occasion, they kept printing their details on the plates, so I had to get the redone (FOC) three times. smile

Not for a while, but I've often used the show plate section of fancy plates

https://www.fancyplates.com/buy-plates/uk-show-pla...

I used to get everything legal apart from no dealer number/post code at the bottom.

My cars never failed the MOT but I did get the odd advisory.

I've never even had a comment from the MOT bloke.

Just buy off eBay, £15 for a pair of road legal plates, I’ve bought loads and have never had to produce any form of proof/V5 etc.
