Captain of industry who hates flying - what's your choice?
Discussion
Meetings, functions, and of course a few illicit dealings here and there. You need a car to take you to all your many engagements, both at home and abroad - what do you choose?
Budget not an issue, a car from any time period you like. Can be chauffeur driven or you can drive it yourself so saloons/coupes/cabrios/bulletproof SUVs all welcome. You can be sensible and think about how easy it'd be to keep it reliable and on the road, or just presume there's a healthy stock of parts available when you need them and go with your gut.
But whatever it is you're going to have to be happy to cross continents in it. Often.
(Just an idle discussion on preferences, I know if you were a real moneybags you could just make most people come to you or take the private jet).
600 Pullman for me please and thanks.

It is what the Captains of Industry in HK/ Southern China use for crossing the border to see their factories - basically an office suite on wheels.
Yeah, but look at it. Everyone is going to laugh at you when you clamber out of that thing. It's gopping. It is what the Captains of Industry in HK/ Southern China use for crossing the border to see their factories - basically an office suite on wheels.
The very notion also has more than a hint of that guy in the pub who had a BlackBerry as a personal phone, and one of those bluetooth earpiece things always in their ear, despite nobody ever talking to them.
As a captain of industry you don't need to be doing all the office stuff on the way anywhere, you are always prepared as it is your business, and you have subordinates to do the boring stuff for you. You want to look successful and like someone that those you are meeting want to do business with, not like someone who has had to borrow the nanny's people carrier.

That was my thinking - if said Captain of Industry has time to spend sat in a car, a better option is lounging 10mph slower in something he can work, eat, sleep and poop in, with a small number of staff to accompany him. Do the traveling at night, be where he needs to be by morning. Basically Air Force One / VC-25A on wheels.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
