What a shame, I hope they were OK after that.

Might get repaired yet that, you never know with something so valuable.

Hope all the occupants were OK.

It happened a minute before I got there, nobody else involved, driver a bit bloody but alive and talking to the police, passenger also conscious and speaking, cabin looked intact.

What a heart-breaking sight. I’m assuming nobody was badly hurt as the cabin looks relatively okay and the site isn’t taped off. I’m sure that’ll be back on the road in the future. It’s far too valuable to write off.

Ouch! Sad indeed.

Is that the car from Top Gear? Looks like it's on the same wheels.

The going rate for a XJ220 is 400Kish.

I guess you can't get parts for them anymore, so a rebuild would be difficult.

Would it make economic sense to rebuild it?

Police only just arrived, they hadn't had chance to tape it off. Left my car on the other side and walked home.

It's not McLaren F1 money and what would the value of a crash repaired one be afterwards?

Donor parts for a 6R4 Metro.

Dunno, I kept shouting the question but they were a bit rude, just ignored me and carried on talking to the police.

If I was one of the police I'd have advised you to be more helpful and continue your journey home.

I've witnessed two rubbernecking bystanders and passersby ask the police what happened at an accident and whether there was a fatality.

Judging by the black wheel, and OP's location, it could well be '220 VAN'. (just an educated guess, not confirmed)

If so, it is the one which appeared on Top Gear and is owned by Don Law Racing.

A sorry sight, but if anyone can rebuild it, it's them.

where did this happen?

Looks identical to the XJ220 I saw last year while passing through one of the many nice little villages in my part of rural Leicestershire / Warwickshire border

Sad to see though, it looks pretty thoroughly broken

Fairly sure that's one of Don Law's cars with that plate.
