Hey guys,
Just wondering if somebody can help me. I normally use shell regular petrol and occasionally use a supermarket fuel station. I've just filled up with tesco regular petrol in cradley heath to take advantage of the 20p off a litre when so much is spent on food shopping, anyway, within driving 5 miles it has started juddering whilst accelerating in 2nd 3rd 4th and 5th gears. This has never happened before and im wondering if the petrol is contaminated and should I take it to a garage to have it looked at ?
Thanks. Tim.

Why have you posted this in "Electric Vehicles and Alternative Fuels" ? (unless you think the contamination is an alternative fuel, of course).

Highly unlikely, but get the car checked out anyway, as there will be something playing up.

Much more likely to be a goosed coil pack, I would have thought. Contaminated petrol would/could/may cause poor running, but not juddering.

Yes, I usually fill up at Shell. I used Tesco Momentum last month and suffered the same symptoms - misfire on 2 cylinders. One full tank of Shell later I was back to normal! First and last time I'll be using Tesco 'Momentum'

It's a Corsa not a Ferrari. It'll be fine on supermarket fuel.

Assuming the EML is on, code read (any cheapo code reader will do it).

Report back.

Petrol contamination does happen (and not only at supermarkets) but it's the least likely cause.

Just like to say thanks for all the comments.
Just to recap in case others have this problem, the car started juddering occasionally whilst accelerating in all gears accept first, after 3 days this turned in to loss of power and engine management light flashed on and off a few times so took it straight to vauxhall, they said it was a the coil pack and replaced it under warranty. Now all all seems fine.
