In need of help!

Hi everyone! I'm new to this but have heard that if in need of any kind of motoring advice, this is the place to get it. Saturday night someone ripped the wing mirrors off my car and then jumped into a car identical to mine and drove off. I have his reg number and have reported this to the police but after speaking with them I am unlikely to be repaid any of the £920 I have had to fork out for new ones. Anyway to the point, I'm wondering if there is any way I can find out where this scum bag lives so I can knock on his door and ask why. Problem is I only have his reg number.

You need to fill out the form v888 and send it to dvla with a fee and you need a legitimate reason for the information.
